Debt Management Manager
Mary is a Qualified Financial Advisor and started her career with Kildare County Council working in the Finance Department for a number of years before taking time out to take care of her two children. In 1996 she returned to the workforce and entered the banking sector working in the branch network. During her time in banking she worked in all customer facing roles and spent a number of years involved in the mortgage business, covering new mortgage applications and in more recent times dealing with distressed borrowers guiding them through the Mortgage Arrears Resolution Process (MARP). She has an in depth knowledge of MARP and CCMA (Code of Conduct on Mortgage Arrears) and is well placed to assist clients in their dealings with banks and other financial institutions.
Mary left the bank in late 2013 and joined Rebate in 2014 where she works primarily on the Debt Management side of the business. This involves preparing debt restructuring proposals for submission to creditors on behalf of clients who do not qualify for Insolvency. Rebate encourages clients to submit Data Protection Requests to their creditors and Mary examines this documentation in detail identifying any potential errors made by financial institutions in their dealings with the borrower. If errors are identified and have impacted negatively on the borrower this strengthens the client’s position engaging with their creditor.
Outside work, Mary is a keen sports fan of the spectator variety and enjoys tennis, rugby and motorsport.
